class 17
So today we turned in some of our research for termites and met with our groups to determine what we might be going over during our Bio-creativity presentations. Heres my compiled research: (I highlighted what I thought was important)

Dream Entry
So I'm entering a couple fo my dreams that I've compiled for our continuing dream unit.
2/4 -- All I can remember is trying to walk up my basement stairs with the lights off and I was extremely disoriented (dizzy) trying o walk up the stairs, which was proving to be difficult. One of my good friends was sleeping at my hose which was actually my aunt and uncles house and I got yelled at by my parents for it. As I walked into the kitchen my family is playing cards with both my deceased Uncles, laughing and having a good time.
2/6 -- This one was a little weird. It starts off with me a a dark and dirty street walking up to the house in the final scene of Gran Torino, and stand in front staring up at the center window. I stand there looking around, and a guy asks me if I want to buy some drugs. I'm thinking about going to the cops and busting the house, but when i get back to my house there is a cop there harassing a friend of mine. He starts shaking the garage door threatening to open it and when he does a large metal object about the size of a microwave falls on his head.
2/7 -- This one was about a motorcycle adventure..It starts off me driving in my friend Brad's car and then driving down a windy road almost going over the bank on every turn. All of a sudden a girl on a motorcycle comes and pick's me up and I hop on the bike. We start going 200-300 mph around a really futuristic race track. Then we were all at a party.

Class 16
Bio creativity Unit: A day spent looking at bugs....
Today we looked at bugs, and a bunch of 'em. Our assignment was to look and list as many creative features bugs have developed as inspiration for a creative product/idea to present in the coming class periods. We looked at several bugs including giant grasshoppers, which i almost literally threw up looking at........monarch butterflies, caterpillars and we, of course, settled on looking at termites as our source of inspiration.

Here's some observation's I made while looking at an array of bug's:
- Praying Mantis have nearly 360 degree vision and can strike as fast as 1/100th of a second.
- Lady bugs wings fold and contract by a set of exterior muscles, that's why they take some time to pull in.
- Cicadas live most of their life underground.
- Butterflies eat toxic food so they become toxic to predators, colors indicate that....
- wings have no muscle
FUN FACT: successful mating plays into survival of the fittest
Class 15
Today we had a Virtual to Reality meeting where we started laying out our guitar project. We basically discussed what is necessary to create this case, and looked at cases similar on the internet. There are a couple of cases out there but they currently break too easily are have terrible sound. We are going to meet and Matt is going to put on a mock show and show us how everything connects so we can get a better picture of how this all fits together.
For now here's a couple of the guitars we found out there:
Our presentations will be on Monday, May 10th
From now and until the end of spring break we are planning on doing research and sketching. I'll be posting some of my sketches later.
Class 14
Hey today we talked about Personality tests and I figured I'd post my results here. It turns out I'm a
| Your Type is ENFP |
| Extraverted | Intuitive | Feeling | Perceiving |
| Strength of the preferences % | |||
| 11 | 50 | 88 | 44 |
I'd say that's about right, slightly more extroverted, split between mind and heart, driven by emotion, and highly observant.
Class 13
We had YTU's again today and Cameron led off with bringing creativity to interviews:
- We had to pick three words to describe ourselves:
- spontaneous
- fun
- kind
- Real life example: I went to lecture and the spokesman said he taped his resume to theinside of the lid of a pizza box, and got an interview because of it!
Loren talked about "Burning Man":
- Huge event where people build temporary town for the purpose of promoting art and community
- all about self expression
- no vehicles except 'mutant vehicles'
Vasco talked about Jonathon Ives:
- lead designer for apple
- talked about how his previous work experience inspired apples popular form in its products
- we had to draw a cellphone, i digitalized mine below:

Class 12
Today the class presented their You Teach us presentations, Adam was up first and was discussing "Creativity in Education"
- education can open the door, offers us opportunity to learn things we might not be otherwise be exposed to, but can be done in a much more creative way.
- drew a widget: (i digitally re-sketched it)

Gavin talked about UPC codes and the problems with them:
- ugly
- they are not international
- the are finite in their ability to track information
Yousif talked about the art of deception and did some pretty cool magic tricks.
- it is about directing the audiences attention elsewhere, controlling the flow of focus
- I went on youtube and found my favorite magic trick:
Ali talked about the "Fun Theory"
- suggests that you can change peoples behavior by makin daily routines fun to do.
- heres an example video he showed us with a piano staircase:
